Prada Handbags
Ever since its inception in 1913, by Mario Prada and his brother Martino, the Prada name has been synonymous with luxury goods. The store originally sold bags, trunks, steamers, and travel accessories befitting its location in Milan's prestigious Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II. In 1919, Prada was awarded the title of Official Supplier of the Italian Royal House. This air of opulence would continue into the mid-1970s when Luisa Prada's daughter Miuccia joined the family business. While initially devoting herself to designing accessories, Miuccia Prada would eventually make her mark on the company by creating timeless classics such as the Bowler bag. First introduced in the spring/summer of 2000, the bag was an instant hit, selling out almost immediately and developing a cult following. Nearly two decades later, the Prada Bowler bag is still one of the brand's most popular styles.
